Bauchi State Health Facility Assessment Tool

The tenet of Universal Health Coverage (UHC) in the post-2015 development agenda re-emphasizes distributional equity and efficiency in healthcare service delivery by providing technical and financial support to healthcare facilities at all levels. Effective delivery of healthcare services requires adequate infrastructure, diagnostic medical equipment, drugs, and well-trained medical personnel. Thus it becomes imperative to conduct a health facility assessment in Bauchi State to generate data on health service availability and service readiness of health facilities across the state. The study involved an assessment of the perception of relevant stakeholders on the role of Community Pharmacists and Patent Proprietary Medical Vendors (PPMVs) on the Bauchi State Health Contributory Management Agency (BASHCMA) scheme. The assessment results provided a situational analysis of the current status of health facilities in terms of infrastructure, HRH, and available health services that can be used for decision-making.
