Dataset to support the EARA Farmer-led Research on Europe's Full Productivity

The survey data was collected between June 2024 and March 2025 from Pioneering farmers across Europe and from Eurostat. We share the structured data as it was collected from the farmers and Eurostat and as it was used for data analysis. Also, included is the codebook which explain each variable names and unit. Additionally, we share our survey used for data collection. Version 5 In version 4 we found a formula issue with calculating the gross margin which is now corrected in version 5. Also we have introduced the data from two farmers, one from Finland and one from Spain. We also corrected an issue with the data in the EurostatData sheet where some country connections were off. When we introduced the new farmer from Spain we noticed that the feed imports data needed a different approach. Initially, feed origins were treated as equally split percentages when multiple origins were reported (e.g., A,B as 50% each). This was correct and served well with analysing answers in the format “A” or “A,B”. However, with the introduction of explicit origin percentages per plot (e.g., C 93%, D 7%), weighting of the influence of each origin became necessary. For that, we shifted to summing and normalising these reported percentages directly to calculate weighted origin shares, allowing for a more precise representation of feed origin composition. In addition, due to reported data inconsistencies and lacking performance we decided to exclude farmer nr 79 from our analysis. However for transparency the farmer data is still in the database. Version 4 This version has the caclulation of the average RFP of all countries changed by averaging the total RFP of each country instead of using the average of each index. Version 3 In this version it has been included also the formulae used for calculating the RFP. Version 2 We corrected an anonimization issue.
