This series of rate books from the Yanko Shire Council records the payment of rates by property owners. Each year, local councils were required to set the level of, and collect rates in respect of all rateable properties within the municipal or shire district. These volumes contain the following information: the name, address and occupation of the owner and the occupier; the situation, areas or dimensions of land; rates due; and rates paid including any arrears.
