The Structure of Vanadium-Tellurite Glasses
收藏资源简介:
We wish to better understand the interaction between the two network formers, V2O5 and TeO2 in tellurite glasses. The aim is to relate the structural changes in the glass to changes in functional properties such as Tg, density, electrical properties, and optical properties. In addition, the data will be used in an ISIS facilities development studentship to develop coordination constraints in the Dissolve software to better simulate the structure of glasses. This study will measure a series of vanadium-tellurite glasses, across the glass-forming region, using neutron diffraction. A combination of direct fitting, simultaneous fitting with X-ray data (I-15-1), and computational analysis will be used to determine the tellurium-oxygen coordination number, nTeO, and the vanadium-oxygen coordination number, nVO with composition. These results will then be used to develop structure-property relationships for this glass series.
