Covering data from the 2022 mpox outbreak, the dataset spans from May 1, 2022 to March 31, 2026, with a daily update frequency. It includes columns such as daily new cases, daily new deaths, cumulative cases and cumulative deaths, with geographic coverage at both global and national levels, involving multiple countries, with 143 unique location IDs and 153,975 total rows of data. The dataset is openly available under the CC BY 4.0 license, and can be accessed via GitHub. The dataset also includes explanatory caveats: for example, since many countries release weekly announcements, OWID assigns each report to a single day, resulting in artificial intra-week effects, and smoothing prior to analysis is recommended.
