Data Set 1 - Week 3

Step 1: The grassland for the experiment, on the southwest side of campus, was chosen for us. Step 2: The starting point of observation was chosen by randomly throwing the quadrat into the meadow. Step 3: The total number of different species the quadrat was counted. Step 4: The total cover of vegetation was estimated as a percentage, as the area of the quadrat that was covered by grass and plants. Step 5: The total cover of grass was also estimated as a percentage of area in the quadrat that was covered by grasses. Step 6: The total abundance of plants was estimated as the number of grasses and plants in the quadrat. Step 7: All the numbers were recorded in a chart. Step 8: The next quadrat of area was chosen by flipping the quadrat to the side. Step 9: Steps 3 to 8 were repeated 24 more times.
