The effect of Cloacibacterium sp. CB01 inoculation on N2O emissions from agricultural soils

The capacity for the N2O reducing bacteria Cloacibacterium sp. CB01, amended in organic wastes, to reduce N2O emissions from agricultural soils was assessed in the current study. The N2O emissions of amended and control agricultural soils were measured over a period of several months and in a diverse range of soil types to examine the potential of this organism to be used as a soil inoculant for reduced N2O emissions. Microbial communities were tracked through the use of 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing to follow the abundance of CB01 in soils as well as to elucidate it's effect on the native soil microbial communities.
