City desk. Daily -- Elks Cotton dance. Caption only -- Wives of members of the Elks Lodge, BPOE 966, San Pedro, were staging a last minute run on cotton materials as they prepared to vie with each other for title of being gayest dressed lady during the Lodge's annual Spring cotton dance, Saturday, May 16. The Lodge is at 209 W. 7th Street, San Pedro. Bright and splashy colors are to be worn for the evening with proceeds going into the Lodge's general charity fund. No. 1-2 -- Shown in picture are Mrs. Jean Estep, Mrs. Lewis Williams, and Mrs. Michael Yelovich, whose husbands are officers in the Lodge. Fashioning dresses is Lemuel Pearcy".
