It is an open-domain news editorial corpus that supports various tasks related to the argumentative structure of news editorials, with a focus on automated perspective discovery. News editorials are persuasive texts, and their argumentative structures are usually implicit. However, the arguments presented in editorials typically center on a concise, focused thesis statement, which we refer to as their core viewpoint. MultiOpEd aims to support research on multiple tasks related to automated perspective discovery, where systems are expected to generate a single-sentence thesis statement to summarize the presented arguments.
