To address the potential camptothecin biosynthesis of the CPT-producing microorganisms and the interaction between the CPT-producing plant and its associated microorganisms, we performed the whole genome sequencing and gene function annotation of the two CPT-producing microorganisms. The comparative genomic analyses of the CPT-producing microbes with the genome of their relatives from the same genus and with the transcriptome database of C. acuminata were included.
