Pheochromocytomas and paragangliomas (PCCs/PGLs) are rare catecholamine-producing tumors. In most inoperable cases, addressing somatostatin type 2 receptors (SSTR2) enables peptide receptor radionuclide therapy using, e.g. [177Lu]Lu-DOTA-TATE. However, insufficient receptor levels sometimes limit treatment efficacy. This study evaluates whether the epigenetic drugs valproic acid (VPA) and 5-Aza-2'-deoxycytidine (DAC) modulate SSTR2 levels and sensitivity to [177Lu]Lu-DOTA-TATE in two mouse pheochromocytoma models (MPC and MTT).
