Technology adoption on nanostores business processes

This dataset contains structured data on technology adoption across business processes in Indonesian nanostores. Nanostores are micro, independent, and unorganized retail outlets that play a significant role in local economies. The dataset was developed to support the empirical analysis in the study titled “When Indonesian Nanostores Goes Digital: Exploring Technology Diffusion Through Business Processes.”
The dataset represents technology adoption at the business process level, rather than at the firm level. Each observation captures whether and how digital technologies are adopted within specific retail business processes, including store operations, product management, marketing activities, transaction handling, and product delivery. The original survey responses were collected from nanostore owners and operators and subsequently transformed into process-based adoption indicators to enable comparative and network-based analysis.
To ensure analytical consistency, the raw survey data were pre-processed through data cleaning, normalization, and categorical transformation. The transformed variables reflect standardized adoption states that allow the identification of adoption patterns, segmentation of adopters, and examination of interdependencies among business processes. This transformation makes the dataset suitable for advanced quantitative techniques such as cluster analysis and network modeling.
