Seven pollen samples were collected and analyzed from two Ritter Ranch sites (CA-LAN-
959 and CA-LAN-953), located near Palmdale, California. Of the seven pollen samples analyzed,
six were recovered from diffuse midden areas located on the two sites. The seventh pollen sample
was collected from the surface at an offsite location and serves as the control for this study. Pollen
analysis was used to provide information concerning possible plant resources processed and/or
utilized at the sites.
