Data from: Assessing intervention effectiveness at promoting voluntary conservation practice adoption in agrienvironments

This dataset supports the analysis found in Read and Wainger 2023 "Assessing intervention effectiveness at promoting voluntary conservation practice adoption in agrienvironments" (DOI: https://doi.org/10.1111/cobi.14009). The data describe existing, published studies on the factors influencing individual farmers' adoption of agricultural conservation practices. For the first dataset, which describes behavioral studies, each row represents one relationship between an independent and dependent variable found in the literature. Thus, the same article can have several rows depending on what statistical relationships it tested. The columns are attributes of the studies (see Table 1 in the publication for attribute descriptions). Using these data along with the R script appended to the publication, a logistic metaregression can be conducted to understand how the attributes of different studies influence the likelihood that they will find a statistically significant relationship between the variables tested and whether conservation practices were adopted. The second dataset, which describes perceptual studies, is organized similarly, but includes columns for main themes of the papers, which are then aggregated across studies. This dataset is not meant to be used for any regression analysis. Data were collected by the authors via download from Google Scholar in May 2020.
