Almawave-SLU is the first Spoken Language Understanding (SLU) dataset tailored for the Italian language, developed by Almawave srl. This dataset contains 7,142 sentences annotated with intent labels and semantic slots, covering 7 distinct intent categories. It was derived from the existing English SNIPS dataset via a semi-automatic pipeline, which includes automatic translation and manual verification of the accuracy of both translations and annotations. Almawave-SLU aims to provide a benchmark for Italian SLU tasks, and is suitable for evaluating and training natural language understanding systems, particularly for applications in conversational and question-answering scenarios.
