Genetic variability of Bombyx mori nucleopolyhedrovirus (BmNPV) isolates in Thailand

This project investigates the genetic diversity of Bombyx mori nucleopolyhedrovirus (BmNPV) in Thailand. BmNPV, a major pathogen of the silkworm (Bombyx mori), significantly affects sericulture. In Thailand, one of the leading silk producers, eighteen BmNPV isolates were collected from different parts of the country to obtain a comprehensive picture of the genetic variability of this virus. Eight of these isolates were analyzed by whole genome sequencing to understand the genetic differences and geographical distribution of the virus strains.
