The Chart-to-Alt dataset is the first large-scale benchmark for image-to-alt text generation. It contains 10,090 pairs of real scientific charts with verified alternative text. Covering more than six major chart types commonly used in scientific publications, the dataset provides high-quality ground truth specifically annotated to support the accessibility needs of people with visual impairments.
