Genome sequence of Madurella fahalii IFM 68171. Madurella fahalii strain:IFM 68171

Madurella mycetomatis is a major causative agent of eumycetoma. Madurella fahalii, related species of M. mycetomatis, is also known to cause eumycetoma. In addition, M. fahalii strains exhibit the resistance to itraconazole, the drug of choice for eumycetoma. The aim of this study is to provide the genomic sequence of M. fahalii IFM 68171, that was isolated in Sudan and preserved at Medical Mycology Research Center (Chiba Universiry, Japan), for further understanding the mechanisms underlying its itraconazole resistance.
