The investigation undertakes the effect of cadmium responsive changes in the transcriptome of a novel green microalgae, Scenedesmus sp. IITRIND2. The control and Cd spiked samples (25 ppm) were subjected to de novo transcriptomics after 12 days of incubation. The study elucidates the stress induced lipid accumulation and Cd detoxification pathways in the green microalgal cells, suitable to address the concomitant heavy metal remediation and biodiesel production.
