PRIRODA (Nature) is the last module of the space station MIR that was
launched on April 23 and docked on April 26, 1996. PRIRODA module is
equipped with the set of optical, infrared and microwave instruments.
PRIRODA project is the international scientific program aimed in
remote sensing investigations of Earth environment from onboard the
PRIRODA module of MIR.
The participants of PRIRODA project are the space data centers and
affiliate organizations from Belorussia, Bulgaria, France, Germany,
Italy, Poland, Russia, Switzerland, Ukraine, and USA.
The dataset contains infrared and visible imagery registred
by MSU-E instrument. MSU-E stands for High Resolution Multispectral
Scanners with Electronic Scanning. MSU-E has 3 spectral channels in
0.5-0.6, 0.6-0.7, and 0.8-0.9 mkm spectral bands. Its spatial
resolution is 14x36 m and field of view 28 km (when sounding is
conducted from PRIRODA module).
