ABSTRACT Polyurethanes are often produced by reacting a hydroxylated prepolymer with isocyanate crosslinkers. In order to obtain the prepolymer, a macrodiol is reacted with diisocyanate via the addition reaction between OH and NCO functional groups, so called chain-extension.
