The invention relates to a press cushion (1) for use in hydraulic heating press systems (15)， comprising a fabric (2)， the fabric (2) being formed in a warp direction by warp threads (3) and in a weft direction by weft threads (4) which are woven together to form the fabric (2). In order to provide a press cushion which is improved compared to the prior art， the invention proposes that functional threads (7) are connected to the rest of the fabric (2) in the warp direction and / or in the weft direction such that a thickness (9) of the fabric (2 ) in an effective area (21) of the functional threads (7) compared to a thickness (10) of the fabric (2) outside the effective area (21) is changed.
