Microplastic shape and exposure timing influence on IHNV viral virulence in Rainbow Trout

These data were generated during an in vivo laboratory exposure addressing the host (Rainbow trout, Oncorhynchus mykiss) response to pathogen (Infectious Hematopoietic Necrosis virus) and microplastics (nylon microfibers, nylon spheroid microplastics). The mortality data is the daily tracked mortality over 8 weeks. During this time fish were exposed to IHNV after 4 weeks and plastics over different time points (chronically, pre-IHNV or post-IHNV). Viral shedding was measured in the tank water at key time points post-IHNV exposure. Viral shedding was normalized to the number of survivors in the tank at the time of collection (i.e., 'Norm').
