New TARC Network: Bus Stop Changes

As part of the New TARC Network project, TARC has re-evaluated each of its 3,000+ bus stops to determine which stops will be included in the new network and which stops will be consolidated or eliminated to help make bus service faster and more direct. In the current TARC network, buses are typically stopping once per block which makes bus service slow and unreliable. With the bus stop consolidations in the New TARC Network, buses will now be stopping every 2-3 blocks. This means that some riders will need to walk a bit further to get to the nearest stop, but it also means that TARC service will be much faster, more reliable and more useful for the average Louisville resident. With fewer stops, TARC can also provide better accessibility for all TARC riders and can install amenities for passenger comfort and convenience at more of its stops.
