The Polarisation Sky Survey of the Universe's Magnetism (POSSUM; https://possum-survey.org/) is using ASKAP's unique survey capabilities to transform our understanding of astrophysical magnetic fields. We aim to revolutionise our understanding of magnetic fields in the interstellar medium, in the large-scale Milky Way and halo, in other galaxies dominated by star formation, active galactic nuclei or merger activity, in galaxy clusters, and in the overall cosmic web and intergalactic medium. POSSUM's core approach is to produce a “rotation measure (RM) grid”, a dense (~ 30-60 sources deg^-2) all-sky ensemble of ~10^6 linearly polarised background radio galaxies at 0.8-1.1 GHz, whose high-quality Faraday rotation information (dRM
