Vanishing of the Glacier Yanamarey, one of the four glaciers with in situ measurements in the Cordillera Blanca, Peru

This repository contains annual data from several glaciers in the Cordillera Blanca, Peru, obtained through glaciological and remote sensing observations. In addition, it provides several measured variables specifically for the Yanamarey Glacier. The observed surface mass balance (SMB) data from four glaciers were compiled from various sources and previously published scientific studies, including the Autoridad Nacional del Agua of Peru (ANA), the World Glacier Monitoring Service (WGMS), and the study by Rabatel et al. (2013). The geodetic mass balance data were provided by Lena Gurriaran and Antoine Rabatel, both affiliated with the Institut des Géosciences de l'Environnement of the Université Grenoble Alpes. The repository includes the following main files: SMB_remote_sensing.csv: surface mass balance data for 44 glaciers in the Cordillera Blanca. SMB_glaciological.csv: glaciological and remote sensing surface mass balance data for 4 glaciers in the Cordillera Blanca. Yanamarey.csv: surface mass balance, equilibrium line altitude, and frontal position data for the Yanamarey Glacier.
