ENSTAT: Weekly Statistics on Electricity Balance – Generation and Supply of Electrical Energy in Switzerland

The Weekly Electricity Balance Statistics provide information on the generation, import/export and consumption of electrical energy in Switzerland, based on Wednesday data. Electricity generation is differentiated into run-of-river and storage hydroelectric power plants (hydroelectric generation), nuclear power plants, thermal power plants, wind power installations and photovoltaic installations. Consumption by storage pump facilities is reported separately. Prior to 2025, thermal power plants, wind and photovoltaic installations were combined under the category "Conventional thermal and other generation". This statistic is compiled as part of the Electricity Statistics. The Electricity Statistics are part of the Swiss Energy Statistics (ENSTAT) of the Federal Office of Energy (SFOE), which is the official federal public statistics in the energy sector (legal basis: Federal Statistics Act (FStatA)).
