Draft Genome Sequences of Sphingomonas species Associated with the International Space Station

The draft genome sequences of three Sphingomonas strains isolated from the International Space Station (ISS) were assembled. In addition, one metagenome assembled genome generated from the same location where the Sphingomonas species isolated was assembled, which confirms the existence of live organism on the surface of ISS even though molecular methods were used. These genomic sequences will help in understanding the influence of microgravity conditions on their potential bioactive compound production.
