Chlorobaculum sp. 24CR Genome sequencing and assembly

The green sulfur bacteria in the family, Chlorobiaceae, is an interesting group that appears to be distantly related to Bacteroides. It is composed of four distinct genera, Chlorobaculum, Chlorobium, Prosthecochloris, and Chloroherpeton. Most species have been found in the genus Chlorobium and they are most commonly represented in genome sequencing studies. We have now sequenced only the fourth species of Chlorobaculum, which should help to identify the characteristics that define the genus.
