Targeted and untargeted determination of phenolic compounds in underutilised fruit matrices in South Africa

This dataset contains information on the targeted and untargeted determination of phenolic compounds present in five underutilised fruit matrices in South Africa. The underutilised fruit including Kei apple (Dovyalis caffra), Simple-spined num-num (Carissa edulis), Natal apricot (Dovyalis longispina), Wild medlar (Vangueria infausta) and Marula (Sclerocarya birrea) were obtained from the Agricultural Research Council-Tropical and Subtropical Crops gene bank, South Africa, and characterised for their phytochemical content using an ultra-performance liquid chromatography linked to a high-resolution quadrupole time-of-flight (UPLC-QToF) mass spectrometry targeted and untargeted approach.本数据集收录了南非五种未充分利用水果基质中酚类化合物的靶向与非靶向检测相关信息。本次研究涉及的未充分利用水果包括Kei苹果（Dovyalis caffra）、单刺刺黄果（Carissa edulis）、纳塔尔杏（Dovyalis longispina）、野生欧楂（Vangueria infausta）以及马鲁拉果（Sclerocarya birrea），所有样品均采自南非农业研究委员会热带与亚热带作物基因库。研究采用超高效液相色谱-高分辨率四极杆飞行时间（UPLC-QToF）质谱靶向与非靶向联用法，对这些水果的植物化学成分开展了表征分析。
