The Community Water Monitoring Initiative (CWMI) facilitates collaboration among local stewardship groups and government partners to support long-term watershed health in the Comox Valley and beyond. Participating groups, including the Perseverance Creek Streamkeepers of the Cumberland Community Forest Society, collect high-quality baseline data using a shared methodology aligned with BC provincial standards. This regional dataset allows us to track the impacts of climate change, industry, land use, development, and other local stressors on freshwater ecosystems, providing valuable information to guide conservation and management efforts.
