According to a survey of online users in the United States conducted in 2022, online shopping activities were on of the most common reasons for users aged between nine and 56 years to engage with email communications. Almost seven in 10 Millennials, as well as 64 percent of Gen X users, and 60 percent of Gen Z users reported using emails for online shopping. By comparison, users in the Boomer generation and the Silent Generation - now aged between 57 and 93 years - engaged with emails the most to correspond with friends and family.
