Transcriptome profiling of rubber tree discovers candidate regulators of the cold stress response

Understanding the molecular basis of cold stress response might provide new strategies to improve the cold stress tolerance of rubber tree. To study the cold response mechanisms of rubber tree, three cDNA libraries, C (control), LT2 (cold treatment at 4 °C for 2 h) and LT24 (cold treatment at 4 °C for 24 h) were constructed for RNA sequencing (RNA-seq), and 1,457 and 2,328 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) in LT2 and LT24 compared with C were respectively detected.
