Phylogenetic relationships and character evolution in neotropical Phyllanthus. Phylogeny of Phyllanthus

Phyllanthus is a very interesting group to understand the evolution of the flora in the Caribbean and its possible origins. The goal of this study is to provide a phylogenetic framework for the neotropical taxa of Phyllanthus based on a geographically representative taxon sampling. More specifically we aim at testing if the Caribbean of Phyllanthus species belong to a single clade, which could have diversified from a common ancestor that had reached the islands.
