In this work, we performed whole-genome sequencing of 215 pepper materials from Asia, constructed high-quality SNPs and InDels, completed population structure analysis and PCA analysis, and identified 10 SNPs significantly associated with capsaicin. The study is aimed at elaborating on the evolution of the capsaicin synthesis pathway and the regulatory network of capsaicin synthesis.
