Reactive oxygen species (ROS) play a major role in the development and progression of several pathologies such as cancers, metabolic and immunodeficiency
syndromes and neurosensory disorders. NADPH oxidases (NOX) enzymes form a family of transmembrane proteins involved in critical pathophysiological processes
through the production of ROS and they have naturally become therapeutic targets. Our goal is to obtain high-resolution protein structures of the NOX1 complex by
cryogenic electron microscopy (cryo-EM), providing structural data and mechanistic interpretation essential to promote drug design strategies.
