The Delta platform of the Brent oil field in the North Sea contains storage cells at its base for depositing oil prior to transport. To evaluate the metabolic potential of the microorganisms trapped in these cells, metagenomic analysis of the fluid contents from storage cell number 6 (C6) was performed.
