PERCEIVED SOUND ENVIRONMENT AND LIVABILITY IN POST- EARTHQUAKE TEMPORARY HOUSING: EVIDENCE FROM HATAY, TÜRKIYE
收藏资源简介:
This study investigates the impact of the acoustic environment on user experience and livability in post-earthquake temporary housing. Focusing on temporary settlements established in Hatay, Türkiye, following the 2023 Kahramanmaraş earthquakes, the research moves beyond purely functional shelter provision and addresses the role of acoustic conditions as a critical component of spatial quality. The study adopts a quantitative, hypothesis-driven approach to examine the relationships among perceived acoustic conditions, user satisfaction, comfort, and overall livability. By integrating user perception into the evaluation process, the research contributes to a more human-centered understanding of post-disaster housing environments. The findings reveal that acoustic comfort is a key determinant of quality of life in temporary housing. Factors such as noise levels, privacy perception, and environmental sounds significantly influence user satisfaction and well-being. The study emphasizes the need to incorporate acoustic considerations into the design of post-disaster housing and advocates a more holistic, user-oriented approach to architectural and urban planning practices.
