PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a workpiece cutting device in which， when a body part is caught with a workpiece pressing member， a cutting blade is automatically stopped being driven without requiring operation of an operator， and furthermore the part for detecting catching of the body part such as a finger， etc. has excellent durability， and stability of detecting the body part such as a finger， etc. is excellent， too. SOLUTION: A workpiece cutting device 10 comprises a workpiece support member 11， a workpiece pressing member 12， a cutting blade 14a and cutting blade driving means 14b， and further is provided with: electrostatic capacitance detection means 16a for detecting a value (electrostatic capacitance related value) related to electrostatic capacitance between a workpiece support surface of the workpiece support member 11 and a workpiece pressing surface of the workpiece pressing member 12; and safety control means 16b which， when the electrostatic capacitance related value detected by the electrostatic capacitance detection means 16a is out of a prescribed range， outputs a cutting blade undrivable signal， which makes the cutting blade driving means 14b undrivable， to the cutting blade driving means 14b.
