Transcriptomic and metabolomic analyses identified molecular and physiological changes in M. acridum in response to hypoxia. M. acridum responds to hypoxia by regulating carbon and nitrogen metabolism. This study highlights the multi-faceted effects of hypoxia on entomopathogenic fungi and adds knowledge to our understanding of the mechanism by which fungi respond to hypoxia.
