Microplastic dynamics in the Baltic Sea: latitudinal trends and vertical distribution - the dataset

This is a microplastics dataset repository of the research paper "Microplastic dynamics in the Baltic Sea: latitudinal trends and vertical distribution".
Marine MPs samples were collected during a research cruise conducted in collaboration with the Institute of Oceanology of the Polish Academy of Sciences (IOPAN) aboard the Polish research vessel (RV) Oceania between 7 and 16 February 2022. The cruise began in the port of Gdańsk, proceeded northward through the Baltic Sea, passed Gotland Basin, traversed Åland Islands, reached 63°N in the Sea of Bothnia, and returned to the Vistula delta. The total distance covered was approximately 2,000 km.
In total, we collected 38 samples at 16 stations and 13 transects. Each station was labeled according to the number of CTD (Conductivity-Temperature-Depth) profiles acquired at that location. Transects, defined as the segments between two consecutive CTD stations, were named using the numbers of the corresponding endpoints (e.g., transect 6/7 refers to the section between stations 6 and 7). When samples were collected more than once at a station, the replicate was indicated with a sequential number (e.g., 7/8_2).
The dataset consists of a CSV file (station_with_dim.csv) with each microplastic description. Each column is described in the first row. The second file is a folder (Raman_Analysis) that contains the results of Raman Analysis of each sampled microplastic. In each picture, there is a picture of sampled microplastic and a signal of Raman Shift.
