Data repository for the paper Mapping Cassiopeia A's silicon/sulfur Doppler velocities with XRISM/Resolve DOI of scientific paper: https://doi.org/10.1093/pasj/psaf053 This repository contains three tar files: 1. casa_xrism_si_doppler_resolve_data.tar.gz2. casa_xrism_si_doppler_single_gaussian.tar.gz3. casa_xrism_si_doppler_double_gaussian_bayesian_fits.tar.gz After unpacking these files there will be three subdirectories:1. Data2. Single_Gaussian_fits3. Double_Gaussian_Bayesian_fitting ## DataContains the XRISM/Resolve spectrum and response files in both SPEX and XSPEC format. The event list from which they were obtained can be downloaded from the [heasarc archive website](https://heasarc.gsfc.nasa.gov/docs/archive.html). Single_Gaussian_fits Scripts: casa_si_s_zgauss_v5.csh: csh script that generates the automatic fitting procedure, i.e. generating xspec xcm files and running them. It produces *.log and *.xcm files for each spectral file used and moves the final products into Results_V5/ directory. A base model is loaded, which can be found in casa_si_s_2_3keV_zgauss_base_v5.xcm mkvelocitylist_v5.csh: once casa_si_s_zgauss_v5.csh has run, this script can be used to extract relevant velocity and other information from xspec *.log files. It puts the information in a text files (casa_velocities_v5b.txt) calc_radial_distance.sh: generates a file with angular distance wrt center Cas A for each Resolve pixel makemaps_v5.csh: use mask images in directory $Maskdir and data in casa_velocities_v5b.txt to generate map images for each Resolve pixel. casa_velocities.py: script that generates the scatter plots and histograms from the processed data and table. casa_si_s_2_3keV_zgauss_base_v5.xcm: standard model to be applied as a first guess for the spectral fitting (based on power-law continuum and many gaussian lines) ang_dist_123.csv ang_dist_abc.csv: csv-formatted date files containing the angular distance for a given XRISM/Resolve pixel casa_velocities_v5b.txt: contains extracted velocity and other information. Generated by mkvelocitylist_v5.csh casa_velocities_Fe_bamba.txt: text file containing the Doppler shifts and broadenings obtained by Bamba et al. 2025 based on fitting Fe-K lines. Subdirectories:SE/ NW/ : symbolic link to spectral files RegFiles: contains all mask images (only 0 and 1s, 1 for coverage of chip). (symbolic link) Maps_V5/All the fits files used for making the maps in the paper can be found in here. Specifically: casa*corrected.img.gz: fits files of various maps for single gaussian Doppler information. pixel_maps.tar : contains fits files containing the Resolve pixels with the measured value for velocities, broadening, cstat, etc *.bck *.bck.dir: ds9 backup files from which the maps in the paper can be made.*.sao: ds9 color bar files*.ctr: various contour files in ds9 format; refer to Chandra contours for Cas A Results_V5:Contains output from the automated spectral fits per pixel (pixel number indicated in file name).*.log: output from xspec*.xcm: best fit model and data. Can be used to show spectrum and best fit model again (but needs to be placed such that the spectral data can be accessed). Extras/ equilibration.sh: generates plots for the electron-ion equilibration under different conditions. The c++ code is to be found under Equilibration/ *.dat: ascii data files containing output from various scripts. These files are needed for the script casa_velocities.py *.csv: csv-formatted data files containing output from various scripts. These files are needed for the script casa_velocities.py casa_chandra.ctr: Chandra Cas A contours in ds9 format *.fits: fits files containing Doppler shifts/broadening maps vel_maps.bck vel_maps.bck.dir: ds9 backup file for velocity mapsbro_maps.bck bro_maps.bck: ds9 backup file for velocity broadening maps Double_Gaussian_Bayesian_fitting The 'Double_Gaussian_Bayesian_fitting' folder contains the Bayesian based fitting analysis on the Ly_alpha and He_beta lines of Si and S.Contents of this folder- The csv files double-gaussian-parameters-{SE/NW}-Final.csv have the best-fit (maximum likelihood) parameters obtained from the fits.- 'Figures_spectral_fits' contains the spectral fits for all the superpixels- 'Figures_DS9' contains the parameter maps (Figure 7 and 8 in the paper) in FITS format and backup files in DS9 format - The folder 'SE_fits' and 'NW_fits' contain the output directories for each UltraSPEX fit. The fitting scripts and results for both double gaussian and single gaussian with Li-like satellite lines are included. These two sets of spectral fits were compared for each super-pixel to determine if a double gaussian model resulted in a signficantly better fit compared to a single gaussian. The folders also contain files named 'best_fit_par.com' which have the best-fit parameter values in SPEX format. The corner plots for each fit are provided in the 'plot' subdirectories.
