资源简介:
This collection consists of data from published studies conducted by the Center for Aerosol Impacts on Chemistry of the Environment (CAICE). CAICE is led by Prof. Kimberly Prather, who serves as director. Prof. Vicki Grassian and Prof. Tim Bertram also guide the vision and scope of CAICE as co-director and associate director, respectively. CAICE research is focused around the study of sea spray aerosols, which are a major source of aerosol particles globally. Sea spray aerosols have tremendous variability in their chemistry and production depending on ocean chemistry, biology, and physical factors such as waves and wind. The center works to better understand how these aerosol particles impact air quality, atmospheric chemistry and climate. CAICE's goal is to understand the structure, phase, and molecular composition of aerosols, at the level of the individual particle. This detailed chemical understanding can be used to predict how the structure and chemistry of aerosols influence their reactivity with gasses in the atmosphere, their ability to scatter and absorb light, as well as their capacity to take up water and nucleate cloud droplets and ice crystals. Research completed within this highly interdisciplinary center spans a range of scientific disciplines: atmospheric, physical, theoretical, analytical, computational, and organic chemistry, along with biological, chemical, and physical oceanography. Objects within this collection contain the data sets, models, and/or scripts that support published peer-reviewed manuscripts authored by CAICE researchers. Each object also contains extensive documentation (“readme” files) to aid fellow scientists in understanding, verifying, and reproducing results generated from the provided data as well as contacting the relevant researchers. Finally, each object links to the related manuscript on the journal’s website as well as an open-access version when/if it becomes available.
