资源简介:
James E. Price was requested to conduct a Phase I cultural resources assessment of the area to be impacted by a prescribed burn, designated as The East Thorny Burn. On March 28, 2002, James E. Price, OZAR Archeologist and Renata Culpepper, Archeological Technician, visited the project and conducted a pedestrian survey of the project, paying particular attention to those areas where there was a probability of being the location of prehistoric or historic archeological sites. Price also examined the extant documentation on previously recorded prehistoric and historic archeological sites in the extant information on the location of previously recorded archeological sites within and adjacent to the subject tract. The tract lies in a rugged upland are in the center of a loop of the Current River. But, the tract does not enter the lower slopes and terraces where there is a major likelihood of the presence of prehistoric or early historic archeological sites.
