Blastocystis is a widespread unicellular eukaryotic parasite that commonly infects humans and many other animals. The main mode of transmission of the Blastocystis is through the fecal-oral route, including ingestion of contaminated water or food and direct contact with infected hosts or their feces. The pathogenicity of Blastocystis as a pathogen is controversial, its infection is associated with intestinal disorders, including diarrhea and abdominal pain, but is also common in asymptomatic individuals [2]. In addition, Blastocystis have been associated with irritable bowel syndrome and chronic spontaneous urticaria. Blastocystis is probably the most common intestinal parasite in humans, but many important aspects of its epidemiology remain unexplored
