Lignite reserves worldwide 2022, by region

The Commonwealth of Independent States had the largest reserves of lignite of any world region as of 2022, amounting to nearly 1,400 exajoules. Australia and Asia had the second leading lignite reserves of any region of the world at that time, amounting to over 1,200 exajoules.
