Colección de Nemátodos del Museo de Historia Natural Marina de Colombia - Makuriwa

El Museo de Historia Natural Marina de Colombia - MHNMC que hace parte del Instituto de Investigaciones Marinas y Costeras Invemar, custodia entre su material biológico la Colección de Nemátodos. Esta fue creada en el año 2009 a partir de 24 lotes provenientes de diferentes actividades de investigación desarrolladas entre 2003 y 2008, que se encontraban sin procesar ni catalogar. En el año 2016 durante el proceso de organización del Museo, tras el traslado del Invemar a nuevas instalaciones, el material fue reorganizado, se destinó un espacio físico para esta colección y a partir de allí se dio paso al proceso paulatino de catalogación. Actualmente la colección custodia 1476 lotes catalogados, recolectados en diferentes ambientes desde el litoral hasta el margen continental profundo. Los especímenes provienen principalmente del Caribe, aunque también se cuenta con algunos ejemplares del Pacífico colombiano. Este recurso presenta 1298 registros biológicos d organismos obtenidos entre los 0.75 y 4008 m de profundidad, correspondientes a todo el material que fue documentado a partir del proceso de curaduría y catalogación efectuado entre 2022 y 2023 durante el desarrollo del proyecto BID-CA2020-055-NAC.
The Museum of Marine Natural History of Colombia - MHNMC, which is part of the Marine and Coastal Research Institute Invemar, holds among its biological material the Nematode Collection. This was created in 2009 from 24 lots from different research activities carried out between 2003 and 2008, which were unprocessed and uncatalogued. In 2016, during the process of organising the Museum, following the transfer of Invemar to new facilities, the material was reorganised, physical space was set aside for this collection and from there the gradual process of cataloguing began. The collection currently holds 1476 catalogued lots, collected in different environments from the coast to the deep continental margin. The specimens come mainly from the Caribbean, although there are also some specimens from the Colombian Pacific. This resource presents 1298 biological records of organisms obtained between 0.75 and 4008 m depth, corresponding to all the material that was documented from the curation and cataloguing process carried out between 2022 and 2023 during the development of the BID-CA2020-055-NAC project.
