Māori perspectives of kaitiakitanga in cities

This data set captures the perspectives of Māori pertaining to the concept of Kaitiakitanga in Hamilton, New Zealand. The interview data explores participants childhood, knowledge of local tribal groups and their history, knowledge and practice of kaitiakitanga, wider Māori cultural practices, engagement with local tribes and restoration groups, understandings of aspects that support kaitiakitanga as well as the challenges faced for the expression of kaitiakitanga practices.
