Temporal fruit bacterial microbiome and immunity dynamics in post-harvest apple (Malus x domestica)

The plant immune response plays a central role in maintaining a well-balanced and healthymicrobiome for plant health. However, insights on how the fruit immune response and the fruitmicrobiome influence fruit health after harvest is limited. This project investigates the temporal dynamics of the fruit bacterial microbiota during post-harvest storage of apple fruits at room temperature in 'Gala' and 'Jonathan' apple cultivars.
