The present study aims to examine two different types of carbohydrates by using diets that include different starch:non-starch polysaccharides (NSP) profiles in gilthead seabream (Sparus aurata) kept on three different rearing systems (RAS with high and low water renovation and open flow). This project aims to explore the interaction between the diet and the rearing environment on mucosal microbiota composition dynamics in juvenile fish. By investigating both fish- (gut, gill, skin) and system-associated (tank biofilm, water) microbiota over time, we aim to quantify the contribution of diet on fish microbiome development in systems with different water refreshment rates.
